What’s a humn?

What’s a humn?

A humn is a brief, 3-minute collective moment on the hūmNET platform where people come together synchronously around a shared intention — for support, healing, solidarity, or connection.

During a humn, participants experience a soothing sound, a simple focus phrase, and gentle vibration guidance — knowing that others around the world are doing the same, at the same moment. It’s presence without performance.

For the CT Nurses Mental Health and Wellness Day, we’ll host a special 3-minute humn on August 8 at 3 PM EST — a moment for nurses and their supporters everywhere to pause, breathe, and feel held together.

Just 3 minutes

Official Proclamation

Connecticut Nurses Mental Health and Wellness Day

Connecticut Nurses Mental Health and Wellness Day

Nurses are essential to the health, safety, and well-being of communities across the State of Connecticut. In recent years, nurses have experienced sustained levels of chronic stress, emotional strain, and moral distress due to workforce shortages, high-acuity care environments, and prolonged system pressures. National data indicate that more than 50% of nurses report symptoms of burnout, underscoring the urgent need to address mental and emotional well-being as a workforce and public health priority.

Designating August 8th as Nurse Wellness Day formally recognizes the critical connection between nurses’ mental and emotional health and the quality, safety, and sustainability of healthcare delivery. This observance affirms a collective commitment to move beyond symbolic appreciation toward meaningful, evidence-informed efforts that support nurse well-being. Establishing Nurse Wellness Day demonstrates Connecticut’s leadership in prioritizing a resilient nursing workforce and encouraging healthcare organizations, educators, policymakers, and communities to take action in support of the nurses who serve our residents every day.

“Together, we pause. Together, we heal. A small pause can create big ripples — your presence matters.”
